WTF is Metaphysical Realism? (Part 1)

Restoring Realism: Correcting the Misunderstanding

The phrase “return to realism” is often misunderstood as a regression; a retreat into theocracy, traditionalism, or anti-scientific thinking. This distortion is the result of epistemic subversion, conditioning people to equate metaphysical realism with authoritarianism or nostalgia. In reality, realism is not a return to the past; it is the recognition of reality as it is, here and now. It is not about enforcing a religious or political order but about restoring the correct structure of knowledge, truth, and governance necessary for self-rule.

Realism Is Not a Cultural or Religious Preference

Realism is not a subjective belief system but the objective recognition that reality exists independently of human perception. Truth is discovered, not socially constructed. This applies to science, law, ethics, and governance alike. Realism does not require religious belief, but it does require acknowledging that:

Reality is not contingent on human perception or consensus.

Truth exists outside of personal opinion.

Law and justice must be aligned with objective reality, not ideological trends.

Metaphysics Is About Reality, Not Belief

Many reject metaphysical realism because they mistake metaphysics for personal belief or ideology. In truth, metaphysics is the foundation of knowledge itself.

Existence precedes perception; things exist whether or not we recognize them.

Truth is real and not a human construct.

Logic and causality are intrinsic to reality, making all knowledge possible.

A return to realism does not mean imposing a worldview. It means correcting fundamental errors in how people understand knowledge, truth, and governance; restoring the only framework that can sustain objective law, liberty, and order.
