The Independent Ontological Core of Man in Metaphysical & Philosophical Realism
There exists a common ontological foundation which Catholic and Protestant traditions (at their realist apex) both shared and recognized as necessary for human flourishing and political legitimacy. This foundation concerns not the mysteries of theology, nor the supernatural operations of grace, but the prior fact of what kind of being man is.
This understanding can be stated as follows:
🔥Man is a rational, embodied being, whose intellect and will exist within and respond to a created order that exists independently of his mind.
Reality is not invented by man; it is discovered. The real precedes the knower.
🔥Man participates in a moral order which exists prior to and independent of human conventions.
This is the foundation of Natural Law. Moral truth is not voted into existence; it is discerned by reason and conscience as reflecting what man is.
🔥Man possesses intrinsic moral agency.
Because he exists within a rational order, he is capable of knowing good from evil, of ordering his actions toward what is good, and of being held responsible for his choices.
🔥Man’s nature is social by design.
He is not a closed autonomous self; he is structured for relationship, family and community, yet none of these dissolve his individual moral agency.
🔥Man is not the property of the state.
Because the state does not create man’s being, it cannot redefine, dissolve, or condition it at will. The state exists to safeguard what man already is by nature.
🔥Self-government is not primarily a political arrangement; it is a metaphysical condition.
Self-government arises from the fact that man governs himself first by moral law and only secondarily participates in civic law. This is the basis of popular sovereignty as understood by James Wilson and the American Founders. Popular sovereignty does not mean mob rule. It means that the people (as bearers of natural moral agency) are the rightful source of delegated governmental authority, not the state itself.
The American Constitution was designed as a realist document.
The Founders understood that rights do not come from government; government exists to secure rights which man possesses by virtue of his nature. This is the reason why both religious and non-religious citizens can equally exist under the Constitution without conflict, because it presupposes the Ontological Core, not specific Theological Confession.
🔥Education must form students to recognize the reality that exists independently of them.
Real education is not about constructing identities or narratives; it is about conforming the mind to truth. This requires restoring metaphysical realism at the foundation of curricula.
It is this core root of Realism which provides the shared ontological foundation that enables Catholic, Protestant and also non-believer realist citizens to cooperate in governance, law and moral formation without requiring religious uniformity.
It is precisely this core that has been erased by Simulator-controlled Constructivist systems of “Scholarship” and “Education”, which deny intrinsic nature, having replaced it with identity narratives and manufactured behavioural controls. It is the ultimate Divide and Conquer, destroying true authentic concord between people, in order to impose a Manufactured “Consent” and Concord of Control for Power Consolidation.
