I guess I would question your assertion that individuals don't matter. Alexander the Great, George Washington, Lincoln, Stalin, Hitler, etc. History supplies good and bad actors that make a difference. I also think that human nature yields to vacuums of leadership. Great men and women have existed in the past. These are the ones we choose as our heroes. Picking heroes is tricky business because history is always written with biases and hidden agendas.

You’re right Bruce, they do matter once the tactics & strategy are thoroughly understood. Before that awareness is there, they can be a speculative distraction and so many people are lost to rabbit holes with speculation draining their attention, leading them right away from arming themselves up.
