The fable illustrates the implications and consequences of what is laid out in the essays, to aid engagement and understanding for readers who may be less familiar with the theory, or simply wanting to engage in a way which brings home the central issues more powerfully, in a way they can share with friends, colleagues or family. Perhaps a way which is more memorable too. I use this method of teaching frequently in my substack output and also in a book I’m in the process of having published currently.
