What I appreciate so much about Van’s writing is that it is operational - not mere intellectualizing. He shows you exactly what the relationship between understanding all of this is to comprehending and crucially embodying the understanding and the responsibilities in action of upholding and defending inalienable rights and American Constitutional Republican system of governance. It’s not for idle arm chair philosophizing that any of this is learned. It’s not for impressing bloviators at dinner parties, or attaining your PhD. It’s to ensure you don’t give away your own agency in civic matters and consumer action. That you know how to defend your own liberties and that you don’t fall for the endless infinite bullshit propaganda media influence operations and the social engineering pumped out by initiatives fronted by mouthpiece whoring public intellectuals. In short, the only real (rather than pretentious) reason to learn this content is to have your wits about you at all times as much as you can!!
