‘The multitude of your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees hath the palmer worm devoured.’ (Amos IV.9)
Watching the public at large since March 2020 has been like witnessing the mass formation of what C.S. Lewis would have called ‘men without chests’. Seemingly educated men and women have been stripped of their critical discernment, their ability to recognize data manipulation, or their wit to recognize the theme and variations of propaganda. Their spidey senses failed to tingle at the sheer incongruence of public official mixed messaging and choreographed confusion. We have those that claim “not all people”, and rightfully, for a now growing minority have eyes to see and ears to hear. Although subsequently they are currently being wickedly demonized by the pharma-sponsored corporate media and government, hastily attempting to have them silenced as threats to national security. It’s tempting to think that this polarization of public perception and personal response originated with “2 weeks to flatten the curve!” I don’t see it that way.
Without active developed rational faculties of discernment fully functioning, assent to an idea, and buying into a narrative are the end stages of a long process of grooming, persuasion, and conditioning. It staggers me how many are still falling for the nice sounding platitudes and so called good intentions; although I have once blindly fallen victim to such narratives in the past too. Not with the current situation, but with issues and initiatives in previous years, especially earlier in my career. I have fallen for honeyed words and it’s not always easy, or simple, at the time to know exactly why.
There are many utopian ideals which beguile and enchant hungry souls seeking intellectual gratification and personal liberation, but the cost and consequences are rarely considered when appetite overrides logic and reason, which it usually will. The spoiled fruits and withered leaves of compassionate sounding initiatives, movements, policies, mandates, and campaigns all inch closer to paving the way to Hell. In the absence of critical thinking, the excuse of ‘good intentions’ is cowardly when the ability to access information has never been easier. We seem to be falling for the same lies, repeatedly.
Many authors have warned us about tyrannical control and government overreach, yet here we are, continuously swallowing lies and force feeding them to others. Our natural immunity to propaganda, critical thinking, has been so severely atrophied that we willingly take the many daily injections of bullshit from corporate media mouthpieces; thus further compromising our logic and reasoning skills. I lost my appetite for corporate media around the same time I lost my belief in institutional progress. I saw many failed policies and initiatives in my field (Education).
How has the secular sphere acquired such religious zeal with its expert high priests, public health dogmas, and corporate media fearfully and wonderfully obeyed?! My quote from Amos IV.9 at the outset contains a powerful parasite which I see active and prolific in the Long March through our Institutions and our corporate media rhetoric. It is the Palmer Worm; which has been poetically likened to ‘teaching which has been eaten up by wrong ideas’ which for me, characterizes the corrosion from within our Institutions and Media.
The Palmer Worm also finds its agency in us, when we uncritically consume and assent to wrong ideas. By ‘wrong’ I mean sterile, unfruitful, a prevention of flourishing to full potential. It’s vital that we recognize and become responsible for this dynamic in ourselves in order to develop psychological resilience, emotional maturity, and the courage to resist authoritarian grooming and coercion. SAGE and their equivalents in various countries will continue to have a field day with us, their lab rats, unless we utterly reject their virtue signalling nudge culture, fear porn and intimidation tactics.
The culture wars have weakened, subverted and corrupted much that many cherish and wish to revive to full health. Dr Bruce Scott has much to say in his articles and lectures on reclaiming individual psychological integrity from the Dark Arts of State Sanctioned weaponized Applied Behavioural Psychology rendering us enslaved to unconscious passivity, herd group think and propagandized ‘reframing’. We’re largely comfortable with much of this and as Aldus Huxley said “People will love their slavery”. It’s a bitter pill to swallow that for much of our lives we’ve been groomed and working industriously to perpetuate that grooming onto others in the name of ‘progress, promotion, popularity, equality, inclusivity…’ and other aspirational trade offs. If we are compensated well enough by our employers for towing a line, there is little incentive for men and women without chests to ask themselves whether their actions are indeed, part of the problem. If their silence is an enemy’s ‘consent’.
The tyranny of unlawful mandates and the destruction of the Old Normal have forced many people to SEE, perhaps for the first time in their lives, the reality of our captured institutions, our puppet governments, the reach of financial corruption and the role of Media in perception management. I’ve launched this Substack as a call to action. The world our children will flourish or fail to thrive in is being created by us right now. How we respond to tyrannical overreach matters. How we ingest and process media matters. Whether we fall in line with social coercion or stand alone on principle matters - now more than ever. I hope to seed a supportive community. One which does not swallow wholesale, but critically reflects on what is peddled through social engineering.
I invite readers to comment with recollections of their own turning points; when the realization that what they’d intellectually or emotionally assented to, was in fact parasitic, bearing spoiled fruit. It is only when you see and understand how YOU have been groomed and manipulated that you can then appreciate how that occurs in others and on a larger scale. Without the capacity to see it in yourself, there is great danger of pointing the finger at ‘Others’ and fracturing what needs to come together and support each other in squaring up to the real enemy. Resisting the lure of Divide & Conquer is crucial. It takes courage and humility to express buyers remorse and we need to support one another in doing so, especially when reputations, careers and lifestyles have been built in service to Lies. None of us are immune to that. We are all fallible. Resilience has been under relentless attack for decades in our captured schools, universities, regulatory bodies, workplaces and churches.
We can wait for saviours, but unless we start to acknowledge and piece together how we have fed the beast with our silence and our assent, history will repeat itself and we will face ever new forms of demoralization and destabilization without the capacity to correctly identify and neutralize them. Public figures can only achieve results on the groundswell of far greater mass public awareness and crucially, effort. I want to hear from ordinary people who appreciate and realize what’s been done to them. People who are willing to try, no matter how simply, to articulate that in order to help others awaken. It’s not just the job of ‘public notables’ or ‘media heroes’ but the duty of every self governing man and woman.
I would appreciate anyone reading this to comment with their own awareness and experience of personal turning points which they feel may help others still under the spell of our hollowed-out institutions and the corporate funded regulatory bodies spoiling our fruits through the unyielding appetite of the Palmer Worm at large.
Buyer's remorse is one way to put it. Catherine Fitts often says that it's hard to look in the mirror and acknowledge that you are the patsy. Twain said it's easier to fool a man than to convince him that he has been fooled.
"State-Sanctioned Weaponized Applied Behavioural Psychology" of course goes much farther back than recent social sciences. Indeed it must go all the way back. The situation is a dark-side analogy to the "observing ego". The wizards of discursive warfare observe human nature, keep their insights secret, and use them (and every other available weapon) against the rest.
The worldwide web was presumably designed as a weapon, but its role has been messy, not tightly controlled, and for the last ten years or so it seems that the web has continued to cut both ways.
In my case, after several false starts beginning in the early 1980s, in mid-2003 I was wondering why the U.S. (et al) invaded Iraq. Oil? So I did a little reading about resource wars. That prompted me to return after 25 years to the question how much oil is left? That led me to the peak oil theory. I happened upon Mike Ruppert's book which was in part about the topic, and that opened up the September thing, you know. And so on from there. The improving bandwidth of the worldwide web brought in more audio and then video (I still much prefer audio to video). And of course there's always been that thing called reading, which I do slowly.
Having realized that "they lie about everything", I have found the learning process often to be like clearing cobwebs. "Yep, that's a lie, that's another one, there's another one." But seeing the lies is easy. Sorting through the multi-layered deceptions in search of the truth is not. It's a noble and urgent enterprise.
The palmer worm is the globalist parasitic One World Government steadily encroaching on each of our individual lives. It's an intentional totalitarian slow rot invasion through stealth. Each of us is consumed and distracted by our own personal problems and life struggles and thwarted by the ever officious controlling bureaucratic Big Blob State which constantly creates and imposes new constrictive rules on us - by design, to keep us oppressed.
The Blob is fed by digital technology and perfectionistic illusion. It likes orderly, contrived, controlling, sterile, systematic, tidy patterns of conformity and sameness. We have to enthusiastically defy and repudiate The Blob, mess it up, open a few windows - let some fresh air in, scupper its engineered robotics, twang a few spokes here and there, apply a bit of artistic scribble and some colour, walk in opposite directions, randomly evolve - but with a common joyful global and local purpose. Step-by-step each day through simple individual actions and through organic imperfect spontaneity we can take back responsibility and shared custody of our world.
We can also embrace the wonderful journey. It'll be an exciting adventure of rediscovery. Yippee! Oodles of hope and happiness ahead! Drive out fear. What larks, eh!
"They" want Control. We want Freedom. Our solution is Organic People Empowerment.
